Thanks. I like it too. The wings didn't turn out quite the same, but at least I tried. I've been wondering a lot lately how people make a lot of effects in their drawings. Especially with shading and lighting. How exactly do you use layers to do that?

Depends on what program you use. For the basic stuff, you can have a layer with your base color, then you have a layer over that where you use darker colors and shade, and a layer over that with lighting.
Of course, you can get much more in-depth, depending on the type of shading. There's actually a few cool tutorials I've found; want the links?

Yep. I used a filter for that actually. I'm not sure what people do to get that effect, but I find my own way.

I use Photoshop CS3.

And really? That'd be great! I'm not sure if it'll help but it's worth a try.

Have you taken photoshop classes btw? Or have you been learning on your own?

Huh...I don't really know what a filter is, or how to use one...well, maybe I know how, I just don't know that what I know is a filter...*confused*

Links...one sec...okay, here! It's a really good tutorial; I've used it too (like on the picture I'm using as my avatar!) It also has links to the other tutorials this person has done. [link]

For more tutorials, just type in what you want on the dA search engine! Like, I just typed in "Shading Tutorial" for this one (and others, some specifically for Photoshop!)

What I know, I either taught myself, or picked up from books and online tutorials. I may end up taking the Photoshop class next schoolyear, though.
